StreetTread Christmas Newsletter 2015

StreetTreadBS

Here we are at the end of another year, and what a fantastic one it has been at StreetTread Dance Studios. Thank you all so much for being a part of it. The studio has evolved so much in the past 12 months with more class variety and the emergence of our awesome Performance Crew.  It gives our students the opportunity to get involved as much as they want to be with the added bonus of mingling in the gorgeous Bulimba community.

Street Jam

We wrapped 2015 with our first ever end-of-year showcase and what a night it was. The dancers did an amazing job for parents and friends and we were absolutely overwhelmed by the turn out and support. Watching the students get up on stage and show off their new skills with such confidence and energy really made us proud. Sensational performances from each and every dancer and a true testament to the hard work and effort they’ve put into their classes throughout 2015.  It was the perfect way to wind up a year of incredible achievements. Congratulations everybody on a successful evening and we cannot wait to see what you come up with at next year’s Street Jam.

Global Dance Convention (GDC) – Sydney

Want to experience the US dance scene without having to travel overseas? GDC is coming to Australia with a series of intensive classes that will be conducted by some of LA’s most in-demand teachers and choreographers. Be inspired by world dancing royalty in a variety of classes including hip hop, funk, street, tap, musical theatre and much much more. Workshops are specially tailored for junior level (from 8 years), intermediate, advanced and teachers only levels.

The convention is happening in Sydney on Saturday April 24 to Sunday April 25, 2016 and we are planning on making the journey down. If you want to challenge yourself and gain once-in-a-lifetime experience from some of US’s finest, email Michelle for more info at dance@streettread.com. We will host an information night in early Term 1 for anyone interested but if you want to know more now, head to www.globaldance.com.au.

Fundraising committee

Thanks must go to everybody who supported our fundraising raffle at the Street Jam performance night. With the money raised, we were able purchase uniforms for the StreetTread Performance Crew who represent the studio at public events in and around our local community.

Next year, we will be focusing our fundraising effort to purchase training aids such as more acrobatic mats, extra mirrors and to host more fun studio events like our recent Pyjama Party movie night. If you would like to be involved in our fundraising committee please email michelle@streettread.com.

Dear parents and students,

May I start by thanking you so much for another fantastic term at StreetTread Dance Studios! You should all be so proud of how hard you have worked and how much you have grown. Here’s a peek at what lies ahead.

StreetTread has grown bigger and better than we could have imagined this year. As I said, your skills have improved so much, it’s only fair you have a chance to show it off to your friends and family.

We realise the end of year can be a crazy time so we want to make this as an optional performance for students, and it will be a fun and relaxing night for those who wish to take part.

Save the Date – Saturday November the 28th from 6pm.

Morningside & Bulimba Festivals

Our StreetTread Performance Crew hit the streets at the Morningside Festival in July for a Street Parade and live entertainment. They wowed the crowd with their unreal skills, energy, and style, and we even managed to end up featured in the South East Advertiser’s social page.

Next term, the Performance Crew will be kept busy representing StreetTread at the Bulimba Festival. This year is set to be bigger than ever and we will be involved in a number of events over the course of the week from Monday November the 9th to Sunday the 15th. Keep your eyes on our Facebook Page for details and be sure to come along and support the crew.

Strengthen, tone and stretch! All age Pilates classes begin at StreetTread!

image

Certified Pilates instructor, Shani Meadows is bringing weekly classes to StreetTread.

Commencing next Wednesday, May 13th from 6:00-6:45pm, these open aged classes are specially choreographed for all ages and all abilities.

Why choose Pilates over other dance classes?

Pilates stimulates the entire body both physically and mentally. Not only does it engage and activate all sorts of muscles for a full head to toe workout, Pilates benefits the heart, brain, and lungs, for de-stressing, detoxing, uplifting your mood and improving concentration.

Utilising the core, stabilising and strengthening muscles, increasing endurance and flexibility, Pilates achieves a lean and healthy body and a happy mind.

StreetTread’s Pilates is fantastic for developing your already beautiful bodies and this class is a really fun way to encourage the whole family to do something healthy all together.

Classes can be attended casually at $13 per person, a class. Please book in advance.

Enrol for the term and save $20. 10 weeks of pilates at $10 per person, a class.

Register now for the term at www.streettread.com

or contact us to book in for casual classes or for more info via email, dance@streettread.com

Can’t wait to see you all there,
