StreetTread Christmas Newsletter 2015

StreetTreadBS

Here we are at the end of another year, and what a fantastic one it has been at StreetTread Dance Studios. Thank you all so much for being a part of it. The studio has evolved so much in the past 12 months with more class variety and the emergence of our awesome Performance Crew.  It gives our students the opportunity to get involved as much as they want to be with the added bonus of mingling in the gorgeous Bulimba community.

Street Jam

We wrapped 2015 with our first ever end-of-year showcase and what a night it was. The dancers did an amazing job for parents and friends and we were absolutely overwhelmed by the turn out and support. Watching the students get up on stage and show off their new skills with such confidence and energy really made us proud. Sensational performances from each and every dancer and a true testament to the hard work and effort they’ve put into their classes throughout 2015.  It was the perfect way to wind up a year of incredible achievements. Congratulations everybody on a successful evening and we cannot wait to see what you come up with at next year’s Street Jam.

StreetTreadBS

We’re at the end of another Term at StreetTread Dance Studios and what a massive term is have been for us!

Flashmobs:

This term we had the pleasure of performing at two of the Love Your Local Market – Friday night events. We pulled together an awesome flash mob and surprised the local shoppers. They absolutely loved it. A HUGE thank you to all of the students, parents, and friends, who volunteered to be a part of the performances. You did such a great job and the support was fantastic. If you’d like to see us in action, check out the video on our Facebook page.

StreetTread Performance Crew:

Following the success of the flash mobs, StreetTread has been approached by a number of other local businesses offering performance opportunities. We decided it was time to put together a StreetTread Performance Crew who have been training relentlessly on Thursday’s for such occasions in the future. 8 students have started the crew so far and they have already been out in the community showing them what we’re made of. Congratulations to Charlee Cottrell-Smith, Jack & Katelin Brennan, Isla Flett, Aleisha Paulick, Fergus & Sian McEown, and Sasha Stockham for their hard work and commitment and for an outstanding performance last Sunday, 21st of June, where they represented at the I Can I Will – 2nd Birthday, Charity Event. Over the coming two months, they’ll be getting ready for our next performance at the Morningside Festival at the end of July. We’d love everybody to come along and support them.

We also had such SO much enthusiasm from the parents and friends after our recent flash mobs that we’re starting a Parents & Friends Performance Crew. They’ll have the chance to support the StreetTread Perfomance Crew at upcoming events and they’re VERY keen to start. If you want to be involved in the Parents & Friends Performance Crew email Michelle at dance@streettread.com Why let the kids have all the fun?

Strengthen, tone and stretch! All age Pilates classes begin at StreetTread!

image

Certified Pilates instructor, Shani Meadows is bringing weekly classes to StreetTread.

Commencing next Wednesday, May 13th from 6:00-6:45pm, these open aged classes are specially choreographed for all ages and all abilities.

Why choose Pilates over other dance classes?

Pilates stimulates the entire body both physically and mentally. Not only does it engage and activate all sorts of muscles for a full head to toe workout, Pilates benefits the heart, brain, and lungs, for de-stressing, detoxing, uplifting your mood and improving concentration.

Utilising the core, stabilising and strengthening muscles, increasing endurance and flexibility, Pilates achieves a lean and healthy body and a happy mind.

StreetTread’s Pilates is fantastic for developing your already beautiful bodies and this class is a really fun way to encourage the whole family to do something healthy all together.

Classes can be attended casually at $13 per person, a class. Please book in advance.

Enrol for the term and save $20. 10 weeks of pilates at $10 per person, a class.

Register now for the term at www.streettread.com

or contact us to book in for casual classes or for more info via email, dance@streettread.com

Hip Hop Fitness and Groove – This class encourages happy minds and bodies. It’s a fun and enjoyable way of keeping active.
